Drive in Shanghai
It is much common to rent a car when you visit another city in developed countries, but it may be not true if you visit Shanghai for the first time, or for a short period. It is not a good idea to drive in Shanghai.

The traffic is heavy in and around the city. You should always not only pay attention to the traffic lights, but also walking people. Many people may not care about the red light and just walk through the street.
At last, it is difficult to find a parking place in Shanghai, especially in the city center. The fact is that there are not enough parking places reserved during the city construction.
Instead of driving in Shanghai, taxi and subway are good substitutions. Taxi drivers in Shanghai are experienced in Shanghai road conditions, and subway is developed well that deserved a try.
