It is difficult to book hotels in Shanghai during Expo
It is relatively difficult to book a hotel in Shanghai, especially an economy hotel, during the Shanghai World Expo. Economy hotels that used to cost less than 300 RMB a night, is up to more than 500 RMB, almost double the original prices.
A relative of my family is coming to visit Expo and asks me to help book a hotel. I have searched hotels online for an hour and can not find a suitable one, they are either too far from the expo garden, or too expensive to an ordinary people, or just full.
At last, with a colleague’s help, I booked a room through an internal employee from an economy hotel. It almost wasted me all the afternoon for this hotel reservation.
Many students with their parents will take a tour to Shanghai Expo, and it is estimated that more people will travel to Shanghai for different purpose, which cause the hotel reservation is difficult these days. And as followed, the hotel price is going up heavily.
If you are planning to visit Shanghai, I suggest you avoid the peak tourist season, or book hotels in advance.
