Nuomi.com Launched the Shanghai Site

Nuomi.com, a member of Oak Pacific Interactive Group, is a group purchasing website like Groupon. It launched its Shanghai site after Beijing.

Group purchasing becomes popular in China after Meituan.com copied Groupon from US to China early this year. Since then, hundreds of thousands of Groupon style websites have been launched. This is a typical ‘made in China’ mode.

Why does Nuomi.com catch people’s eyes among so many same websites? When it was officially online on June 23, it sold a film ticket set for 40 RMB, including two tickets, two cups of coke, a cup of popcorn and Haagen-Dazs cream separately. It was 77% off compared to the original total price. The deal sold 152160 sets which became a hot topic those days.

Today, its first deal in Shanghai is also a film ticket set, and the price is also 77% off. Till now, more than 40,000 people have bought the deal, and the number is still going up.
