The City of Ningbo
Ningbo is a city of Zhejiang Province and on the eastern coast of China. It takes 2-3 hours to drive from Shanghai, via Hangzhou Bay Bridge. Ningbo is a city worth traveling and staying around.
Julia and I have traveled to Ningbo a month ago, and it was an enjoyable trip, although it was only a 2 days vacation.
We took a bus from Shanghai South Railway Station to Ningbo in the early morning, and arrived at noon. We walked around the Chenghuang Temple and found something to eat in a small restaurant. There are many snack food there.
In the afternoon, we went to the Ningbo Old Bund, which is a mixed style of historic and fashion. There are bars and foreign restaurants along the Bund. The night scene is also gorgeous, including the nearby three rivers conjunction area.
In the second day, we went to Fenghua, a county-level city under jurisdiction of Ningbo. Tengtou Village in Fenghua is one of the top10 natural villages in China, and it is the only case of Shanghai World Expo Village “Urban Best Practice Area”.
Xikou of Fenghua, in where the famous Xuedou Mountain locates, is the birth place of Chiang Kai-Shek. The Xuedou Mountain is steepy and there are buildings in the mountain built for Chiang before liberation of China.
I hope we can go to Ningbo in another time and stay there for a longer time.
