2011 Shanghai Book Fair

without comments

Last year, I went to the Shanghai Book Fair. This year’s book fair has opened today in the same place, and will last for a week to Aug. 23.

In my own opinion, the exhibition isn’t worth a visit. It is chaotic at the site and very crowded.

What attracted me most while browsing today’s schedule is that there is a book signing by Mark Obama, brother of President Barack Obama. The book name is <Nairobi to Shenzhen>. We Chinese people knew Mark Obama after Barack Obama was elected as the President in 2008, and know more when Barack visited China in 2009, because that Mark Obama is living in Shenzhen, China.

As it is more and more convenient and cheap to buy books online, is such book fair still necessary? Or is it just a way to promote book sale?

First Visit to Pudong Kerry Parkside

without comments

Last Saturday, I visited Pudong Kerry Parkside for the first time. Pudong Kerry Parkside is right located at Huamu road station of metro line 7. The transportation here is very convenient.  If you take Maglev train or metro line 2, you can interchange to metro line 7 (direction to Huamu road station) at Longyang road station.  When arriving at the terminal station Huamu road, you can directly get out from the No. 5 exit of the station and reach the building through underpass.

Looking for an Apartment at Jiangqiao

with one comment

I am looking for an apartment at Jiangqiao of Jiading District, where is very close to Changning and Putuo District. After two weeks’ field investigation and related information search on internet, My final decision, concurring with my girlfriend, is to  quit from the Jiangqiao area.

Last Wednesday, we went to Jiangqiao at first time via metro line 11 at Taopu newly Village station. It is only 3km far away from Jiangqiao, but there is no direct bus and we had to take a tricycle. When crossing Taopu highway, we saw many dense residential buildings, which does not give us a good impression. We knew they are Jiacheng residential quarters later. Read full story…

One Night in Shanghai Xintiandi

with one comment

I had a dating the night before yesterday in Shanghai Xintiandi. The rain was heavy when we got there by metro line 10, but fortunately it only drizzled after we had supper in a fast food Japanese restaurant In Tokyo.

We had a walk around Xintiandi and took some photos in the night. Hope you like.
